metal surround
Anyone aware of an off the shelf bonnet surround trim that would go around an oval K&N filter fitted to a 32/36 weber carb.
I've considered making my own but looking at my previous attempts at metal work and knowing this will be blatantly on show I thought I'd
see if there was a ready made one available first which will look 10 times better than any effort I could make.
Thanks
Nigel

Hi Nigel,
I don't know of one myself, but if you don't get much of a response from anyone else - I will make one for you. You are relatively local
to me anyway.
I've probaby got a piece of Ali that will do the job, so there'd be no charge mate...
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Nigel,
Must be getting close to finishing now?
I trimmed the hole in my bonnet (same carb/filter) with rubber edge trim. Dead easy to fit and leaves a nice tidy finish.

Hi Nick
Things are going well, should fire her up by the end of August.
Tried fitting the edge trim and had a right fight with it, the metal clips kept coming out.
Decided to knock that idea on the head before I wrecked the bonnet. As the car is black a friend suggested a metal surround might look better.

The trim I used has the metal clips moulded inside it - got it from Merlin Motorsport IIRC.
Edit to say...
Used the sam stuff all over the car, front wings, under the dash etc.
