Lights - where's the problem?!

I'm hoping that someone may be able to answer my question fairly easily. A problem has appeared with my lights in the past week.

With no lights on or just side lights on, all indicators and lights work fine. However, when dipped or full beam are on, the left front headlight isn't on properly, and the left side and rear indicators are on permanently. Indicating left does nothing, while indicating right works fine (albeit leaving the left side and rear indicators on).

I expect (hope!) it's something very straightforward, and have had a quick go at cleaning up the connections without taking much apart, but thought I'd ask here to see if anyone could suggest where to target my efforts.

Thanks for your help.

Sam

Sounds like an earthing problem (on left hand headlight).

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Sounds like a pretty unanimous answer. Will have a play tomorrow and hopefully sort it out.

Thank you.

It does sound like an earth problem - maybe a bit of corrosion on a terminal somewhere. Also worth checking that you havent got a short between circuits (ie sidelights to headlights or indicator) Just use a continuity checker to buzz out each circuit.

Cheers,
Raz
