is Silicone Hose flexible?
the water rail on my zetec, is not in direct line-of-sight to the radiator inlet, needs to have a bit of a bend in it.
therefore i was thinking about silicon hose....
but i dont know how bendy it is???
anyone tell me what its like?

Yes it bends, but it will kink very easily and may close up. Best bet may be to use a shallow 135 degree bend. Or a bent alloy section of pipe

45 degree bend would that be. A 135 degree is a sharp bend.

here is a simular example, expect my bend will need to be shallower as my rad is not as wide...
will i be able to put this sort of bend in the pipe?

if you get the superflex stuff you should be ok. the other stuff is not very bendy at all unless you get it in small diameters

Not necessarily, i have seen both obtuse and acute bends refered to as both 45 and 135 degrees.
But thats not important, as the OP knows what angle is needed.

Revotec make some excellent stuff with spiral reinforcement which would do you no harm to fit, we looked at it down at one of the shows it will make
a U bend without kinking but is -err... slightly more expensive than the ordianary stuff.

45 degrees is a very sharp bend. 180 degrees is a straight pipe!

so anyway.... getting back to my original question...
would a straight piece of silicon hose be able to bend in the manor illustrated in the picture i attached?

It would almost certainly kink. Either use two bends linked by an alloy pipe, or get the "ribbed" variety that has a coil spring built in
to stop it kinking.

For that sort of bend find a road car with hose of roughly the right shape. And get either the OEM style rubber hose or the Silicone equivalent.
