MK chassis- Harness height

Can anyone help?
Attached is a drawing of my MK chassis to harness mounts. Has anyone overcome this problem for SVA? Have I got a rogue chassis? ie only 22mm left for any kind of seat (given the SVA datum of 53mm). Or am I reading the SVA regs totally wrong Rescued attachment Seat belt harness 1.jpg

Trick Seats

I dont know about Mk chassis but that looks about right for a book chassis, I didn't want my seat belt mounts right up in the air ,so I put them at that kind of height ,then I made VERY thin seat squabs, but included a generous amount of covering which tucked underneath ,then after the test I put thick padding in.

Also I thought I saw something about EFFECTIVE mounting height , I took that to mean if your seat belts where going through belt holes on a high back seat , that would be the height measurement.

There was no mention of this in 2000 when my car was tested. And I could be getting the wrong idea...................

I was measuring this on monday evening and came to the conclusion it was all OK, but i am using an unpadded aluminium seat that bolts onto 25mm tubed that is fitted between the seat anchorage chassis members. I think your answer is to not fit runners for SVA or take the bum pad out if its too high.

I read the SVA manual on monday and this seems to be correct, but if you are using your seat to altering the effective height, your seat must meet the same sort of strength/fixing requirements as the harness, so i'm not sure how the tester would view the flexing of a fibre glass seat for example.

Thanks for the input guys
Unfortunately I don't have harness holes in the seats.
I have got Cobra Cub seats with/without headrests.
Like many of the guys I have been waiting for months for the SVA manual, so working a bit blind here, but I seem to remember seeing somewhere that the seat must have some sort of covering? I did have 1/2" runners, but have taken them off and made some 'fixed' out of bar 1" wide, but flat.
I have also 'modified' the foam, and I am still about 15mm too short of minimum requirement.
I can't put the passenger seat in for SVA 'cos as it stands, the way MK have made the chassis/roll cage, I cant even get the eye bolt in
If they didn't use the datum 'pad' I think I would be ok, but just how strict are they on this? I do not know.
Any thoughts on this again, would be very much appreciated.

PS, anyone going to Newlands on Sunday that could poss. lend me manual for a couple of weeks?

Austen, many thanks for your efforts, very much appreciated!
Conrod has very kindly offered me a squizz at his SVA manual when we meet at Newlands on sunday.
He says that his manual is a couple of years old, so if you know that there have been changes (especially the seat to harness prob), I would be very grateful for your input on those.
Again, many thanks for your efforts mate
