X FLow Piston Removal
Hi, quick daft question. Can you remove the pistons from a x flow from the bottom? ie. past the crankshaft.

Lift out from the top. Youd never fit them again from the bottom anyway so you have to take the head off regardless even if you could get them out
the bottom.

OK, Thanks. Didn't expect that I could. Just wanted to avoid lifting a twin cam head.

Did you say Lotus Twin Cam?
Do yourself a favour mate. Pull the lump out and work on it on the bench should it have anything as serious as a damaged piston.
I am talking from painful past experience messing around with these engines.

Lotus Twincam dosen't suffer bodges -- take care.
If a Twincam needs a piston odds are it needs a full rebuild.
On a Twincam you are pulling the piston because of loss of compresion usual cause is bent valve(s) usually caused by exceeding the redline.
