Fixing ideas needed.
Hi Folk
We are in the process of fitting a steel flip front to a Mini and need some sugestions on how to neatly secure to the "A" panels.
Dzus fastners look good but I don't think they are really up to the job as they tend to flex and will allow the front to "tizz"
Any other thoughts?

So we’re talking about a mini flip front, how much does that weigh, 20kg? I think Dzus fastners are more than up to the job

There are also different grades / types / sizes of Dzus fasteners.
If it's good enough for a 747 it's good enough for a mini 
Have a butchers at the Dzus website...

I used Dzus on my sprint and hillclimb mini and they were fine. They withstood some abuse, including the flattening of the front when I rolled it!
I had a small plate fixed behind the wing and the front just clamped to this with 2 dzus fasteners either side.

Hi
Dzus fasteners by their nature will always allow some movement / fretting between the two components they secure, this can be reduced by securing one
edge by a different method, (a hinge is the usual method in aviation). There is another version of quick release fasteners that look similar to Dzus
fasteners but are actually captive bolts with relatively 'quick' threads. These are used when joints are required to be more secure.

Hi
Don't mean to sound negative all the time but the type in your picture are generally referred to as Camloc fasteners and suffer the same
problems as Dzus. Camlocs also have the annoying habit of wearing through the receptacle when you least want it.
I'll try and find an example of the fasteners I mentioned earlier and post pics.

Hi
I've been unable to find an example of the fastener I was referring to on the internet so would assume they are not really locost, in which case
my suggestion would be to use anchor nuts.
