body mods - Sylva.
Looking for suggestions.
I'm the first to admit that the styling of my Sylva is not succesful from all angles. I pretty much love it from every angle except the front.
Where I hate it...
This one isn't mine - that's mine on the left. But I just thought it looked pretty mega. Apart from the front.
Suggestions welcome, seeing as I have the front off just now.
Alterations would have to be from the centreline of the front wheels forward, because I love everything behind that point.
Photoshop job anyone ?
Right, here's the view that needs attention....

Dont change it at all - the front looks fab (if a bit left field).
Round lights wouldn't work with the angular lines.
A more interesting grill would be worth thinking about - something like a citroen chevron or similar? Link that to a shaped grill or vent on either
side in the flat panel under the lights
If you are ever in the Borders let me know, I would love a closer look.
Cheers

I also think it looks pretty fly & agree that with a decent grille would be perfectly good. I think if you start trying to modify - it may look a
bit dogs dinneresque... Due to the pinched waste the front will always look pretty wide.

Wouldn't change it too much, but you could look around at production headlights that are approximate size and shape you want, then order a
glitzy aftermarket version and fair them in with GRP. No one will recognize them.
I think horizontal body-colored bars in the grille would look good.

JC - I know we have had this discussion many times before.
It's a taste thing I guess - and it appears I don't have any.
So, what sort of grille then ?

The only thing that would improve it for me would be to maybe fair in the lights somehow with a cover to make them more aero.
Other than that, unless there's a proper funcion leave it as it is. There again, I'm generally a function over form purist (there again

I'll cut you a one off grill John all you need to do is draw it.
Not having any knowledge of the front end under the bodywork is it possible to go seven esque or even lighter try going down the johnathan Rarity
route

i haven't got photoshop on this computer, only on mine which is very slow and won't go on the internet. arse-ache basically... but
i'll try to explain. narrow (short) rectangular headlights. i don't know where from though. but about half the height of the ones
you've got.
mounted further forward, and filled in the body bbehind.
thats a really rubbish explaination... sorry

With Geo Prizm lights, for the heck of it. I'm sure you can find better.

changing lights and grille would make a hooge difference.
I would try to smooth off the area where the lamps are now to be in line with the wings and fit twin cound headlamps.
A poor mock up below.

Yep.
Laughed out loud.
Although to be fair, it actually looked quite good back then.

I like it but in my taste the scuttle edge is way to far forwards. Some half doors that would bring the sides farther back before dropping for the
elbow or such would be my point.
I do like it though
