I am self employed and currently work shifts. This week I am on nights. I go to work at 3.30pm and get home at 6am. Up at 11am. This gives me 4.5 hrs per day for working on the car.
This is the progress after two weeks.

looking very good so far.

out of curiosity how do you find the space to work? or is the original car now sold?

TGR-ECOSSE - 1/6/07 at 02:44 PM

Very nice. At what point will it stop being called project x and have a name?

I find my time by having disconnected our TV five years ago!

Where'd you get your seats?

I am open to suggestions!
To give you an idea, it is going to be an "atom" type car with an R1.

I got them on ebay from someone who I think the username is redpip69.
Not cheap, especially if you buy the mounting brackets and padding.
They are about £220 but the padding is around £40 per seat and brackets about £25 per set.
All I can say is that they are very good quality using close weave black glassfibre and are reasonably light at around 4-5kg each.

and neutrinos all atomic particles. Isotope's a nice name or nucleus, don't call it a proton though

caber - 2/6/07 at 01:13 PM

Plywood chassis like the original Marcos 1800? good idea strong, stiff and easy to do with a router and Aerolite adhesive ( special epoxy for wood)
