angle required to change gear on a zx10r

this is all very complicated..

anyone know what angle movement is required to change gear on a zx10r... i want to build a push/pull cable paddle shifter but have no clue as to what moment of center at each end works best..

if anyone has one working on this engine, can you measure the lever rates at each end..

pretty please...

Just design it so its adjustable if possible.

Go into a bike dealer (obv kawasaki would be best) and ask a guy to change gear and you measure the upward and downward motion and also take the dimensions of the lever arm.

You should then be able to work out the distance for the cable bracket, and the distance on the paddle from paddle centre!

Hi Steve
just seen in your build diary about the splitting hose. Being a tight arsed get I wasn't prepared to pay that sort of money for a piece of hose, in my local breakers I found a hose that connected the air filter to plenum chamber off I think it was a volvo

Just turn the gearbox output shaft slightly whilst changing gear and you'll be able to select gears and thus measure the angle

thanks Chris

I will do that... but if anyone has one they bought ... or has made one... i'd love to benifit from their experience and stories of how they would make it better next time would be great...

I looked on the cable tek web site... if anyone has different experiences with diferent spec cables... that would be great to know also..

Cheers
