Could anyone help? My kit has failed today on it’s emissions it was ok on co but failed on hc. How do I get these down It’s a carb’d zx1000 Would a cat help??

No, if it's failed on HC's it must be running very poorly generally, it should pass easily., albeit possibly only when rpm is raised a little

You need to check all usual culprits, ignition, carbs etc, but I would start with valve clearances, they closed up on both of my ZX10's & made them run like a bag of poo

I think balance can upset HC too.
If you can get hold of a balancer that connects to all 4 at the same time it makes life very easy. Remember to balanceat idle and just off idle to make sure the linkages are set correctly.
