Viento engine mount mod
kenton - 26/6/09 at 07:55 PM

I'd noticed that the exhaust manifold was lower where it exits through the side panel, compared to where it was originally. I thought the engine mount rubbers had compressed, however on closer inspection the engine mounts had bent by the block bolt-holes. I've straightened the mounts and added a cross-member that runs under the engine supporting the mounts. Rescued attachment IMG_6225.JPG

Thats what i was thinking

How much clearance do you have kenton?

kenton - 26/6/09 at 08:20 PM

I have about 4" clearance. My girlfriend bless her often says when we arrive at a speed hump "shall i get out"

stevegough - 26/6/09 at 09:15 PM

Sorry, gotta take issue with that 4" - on the photo it looks like an inch and a half max. - Or is it trick photography?

clairetoo - 26/6/09 at 09:21 PM

4 inch's - looks more like 4 centimeters

The front wheels are part way down the slope out of the doorway so sump looks lower than it actually is.

How do you drain the oil the plug looks half way up the sump?

I did exactly the same mod after I broke an engine mount at Croft.
