Has anyone using Rorty's De Dion plans actually completed their car (or close) yet?
I'm wondering if any frame mods were needed to make it fit -- particularly in the area of allowing enough droop for the tube.
Darren's De Dion plans show a mod that involves mounting the RU1 and RU2 tubes level with the ground instead of using the normal 10 degree angle.
I'm at this point in my construction now, so need to know if this is necessary.
Thanks for any help.
Shaun
ps: Has anyone heard from Bob (Rorty) lately? I saw a message some time ago indicating that his health was suffering, and I am hoping he is now
improving.

bpgoa,
I never did get a response from anyone, but I did go ahead and make the frame adjustments in line with the GTS plans, and I believe that this was the
right thing to do. I don't have the De Dion installed quite yet, but have laid it in place, and it looks like the added room was needed.
You can find the GTS De Dion plans here:

Also, John Roberts makes a very good quality and reasonably-priced De Dion axle kit. See:

Good luck!
