Propshaft install
dave107 - 10/12/08 at 08:48 PM

Help.

I have installed my short propshaft to the engine and Quaife box.

Can someone tell me how to install my rear propshaft to the Quaife box as the flange on the end of the propshaft does not fit in the tunnel.

Nice to hear from someone local.

Have you panelled the tunnel?

Or perhaps remove the Quaife box fit the rear prop and then refit the box perhaps.

Photos?

Do you mean the flange that bolts to the diff? if so can't you fit it from the rear? oh-er

Hi,
IIRC, slide in from back before fitting diff

You can split the joint and reassemble once in place. That is what I did.

Propshaft has to go in from the back due to flange diameter on back of prop.

Tunnel is not closed off.

Flange on the front of the prop is 87mm diam, flange on diff end of prop 110mm diam, width in tunnel 77mm.

I have been fitting from the back and diff is out.

Steve can you explain how you split the joint please.

Oh-er Johneturbo i have tried to fit from the rear without the diff in that's the only direction it will go in from.

If you split your prop put tipex marks so you can re-assemble it back together in the same orientation.
