Hello all
I have removed and sold my Quaife reversing box and two peice prop
To be honest that was a pig to get out, rear part of the prop could only come out after removing the diff as the rear flange was to wide to go forward
between the bones of the tranny tunnel.
Once the quife box was removed the front half of the prop short peice came out easily between the bones.
I have have a new prop with centre bearing, how does it slide in?
Sounds silly but if the engine wasnt there it wouldnt slide through as the rear flange wont pass between the frame around the tunnel,i cannot slide it
through from the back as the centre bearing wont pass between the frame.
It cannot be put up from underneath even if the floor wasnt fitted as it has frame work fitted.
So can somebody shed some light please
Thanks
This cought me out too, as i had a reverse box in the last car
i was told you have to seperate the shaft at the centre bearing,
but mine woulnd't, so i removed the rear flange and slid it in from the front
Mine slid in from the front down the tunnel no problem. it was tight through the arches but at the right angle it fit
Mine still has the R1 fitted and in fully working order, really dont want to take all the engine out to get it in from the front, unless i have to.
I was hoping as i have the dif out that i could slide it down from the back some how.
I have only had a quick go tonight so i will try again tomorrow
Thanks
I had to put the engine and diff in to get the length for the prop. Then dropped the engine again to get the prop in, the flanges just go through at
an angle. I had a go at splitting the prop, but it seemed extremely tight on the splines.

I just split the joint on the flange matey, easy to do and went back together ok!
Steve
Ive sorted it,easy when you know how!!
Took about 10 mins to fit even with the engine in,had to take the diff out though.
