Cooling
spdpug98 - 20/2/09 at 01:57 PM

I am hoping to get the engine fully plumbed in this weekend, hopefully ready for firing the engine up next weekend.

But I have a few questions, I have installed an R1 5PW (2003) and plan on running my pipes as below (please tell me if I am wrong!!!!)

1 Hose from 'T' piece (front of engine) to breather tank (water pump breather hose I think)

2 Connect oil cooler to main bottom hose

3 Connect small outlet on rad to breather tank

4 Cap outlet on thermostat housing - has anyone done this or should I 'T' it into the hose from rad to breather

5 Is there anything else I should do!!!!!

Pic of outlet on thermostat that I am thinking of blocking off

modified version of someone elses picture because of the mnr supplied hoses look like the bottom hose is set up for the oil cooler as ther are no t offs in the top hose

Adam

Thanks similar to what I was going to do, but with the thermostat included. I think I will 'T' into pipe to header tank

Is your thermostat outlet pipe going to get in the way of the bonnet like mine?

Not if I blocked it off, another reason why I was thinking of blocking it off

i cut the little piece of pipe off drilled the rest out .tapped it and put a bolt with some sealer on it.i did this because with a pipe connected it hits the bonnet as was just said
