Massive thanks to All the MNR boys in area 59.
Lost a cycle wing 1mile out from site and the break line too. Limped it in and between everyone there and Andy Bates from AB Performance i got brake
line back and my stub axle tightened.
Really enjoyed stoneleigh, the company and was made once again to feel very much of MNR.
Got back safe without the cycle wing so will be getting on touch to get replacements, new upright etc.
think i'm hooked on the new mazda one still.
See how its IVA goes.

hey rich i was up there all weekend. was looking out for you but im guessing you was busy sorting out your car.
nah - took about an hour after the show on sunday.
came how with wing still off though
just one of those things and didn't spoil the weekend at all.

i think if my brake line had ripped out due to the wingstays braking i'd be
you have the same uprights i had on my last car( so the same design wingstays) which also broke in the same place.
maybe a wing stay recall is in order!?

had a chat to him this morning to say cheers and he gave me some sound advice.
It's weird to see these wing stay comments... I've seen a couple of MNR's ones (Neds and another at Newlands) and both times have been
really impressed with the design. I felt it looked far more likely to survive than the standard 'bent 3mm strip welded to tube' of most of
the manufacturers!
Has the design changed since you guys bought yours?

Ian's looks different to mine and so did a couple of others.
They had more angled support stays higher up the wheel at the front and rear.
I'm no expert but we think mine went because the stub axle nut thingy became loose and causeda bit of vibration.
Same on the wings themselves as were only bolted on and not silkaflexed.
Couple of other comments i hear was that as they were longer the wind buffeting is more and it gets under the wheel arch.
either way i'm going to hopefully get or make the brackets higher up and then keep the wings smaller and cut the edges off (so i can silkaflex
and also get the wheel off without taking arches too)
minor irratation at the end of the day
i to have had two snaped wing stays snaping after just 200 miles,i spoke to marc about this at stoneleigh and he recons if i fit them again with
sikaflex along with the screws they will be ok.
i will give this a go.

won't get the wheel off

rich cant remember if you have a welder or not but if you need anything welding just give me a shout
Here is what we have done to the wings after hearing many people losing theirs:
We bent a stainless steel strip in an L shape, bolted the bottom of it to the upright using the top upright pin, and bolted the top of the L through
the inside of the wing. It seems plenty solid and even if the wing stay welding breaks, the wing will not fall off.
The wing stays probably break because of the vibrations, since the stay is not fixed in the middle, only on the two extremes, so there is quite a lot
of load on the weld. Our solution eliminates this issue and costs next to nothing and doesn't require any welding. See pic...
