Hi all.
FINALLY got around to having this done and it has made a massive difference.
Problem is i seem to be losing fuel pressure.
No leaks, tight bends, kinks, etc

Got the smallest facet pump fitted as near the tank as posssible.

I'm thinking of getting a larger pump and a regulator which should solve the problem and give me the extra bhp i'm losing.

Any other ideas before i go down this route?

I agree with Timc, a mate had the same problem on his blade engined indy, he dumped the facet and put a bike pump on and all is well again. He already had the large facet pump with a filter king regulator.

Go on tell us how much bhp its putting out?

Use the bike pump as stated already but with a carb engine don't you need the pump at the engine end not at the tank?

I think the tank end is best, I'm sure they are better at pushing than pulling

yes yes, but what was BHP?

mine was the car mentioned by tim in his post. 133 bhp at wheels. not bad for a 2001 R1. and with it being so light its very very fast!

Out of interest where did you get it done as im looking into the same soon?

why use the R1 pump - wasnt it gravity fed from the tank on top?

I'd have thought a larger pump like bigger facet or red top type with regulator would do fine?

BHP was a misersble 105 but what a difference it has made to the car anyway

George, Its a fuel supply issue and not enough getting through as the revs pick up.
Pressure seems to be dropping off.

Its not a great pic but if you look here:

You can just about make-out the fuel pump close to the forward lower wishbone bracket. It's mounted in a coil-pack bracket bought off ebay (unless MNR have changed it.) I've heard of several people trying to use Facet pumps on BECs and having issues. All of these people have solved them by going to the matched pump.

Use the standard R1 pump down under the tank on the bottom chassis rail. That way its gravity fed then pushes up to the motor.

Maybe the Facet cannot supply enough volume which drops the pressure.

Mate of mine had the same issue on a pinto with bike carbs, ditching the facet and using the OE pump has cured it.
