after having a nightmare with my emissions the car eventually got through today ( I was only 10 days away from having to do IVA !!!!)

now the fight begins for a new registration !!!

it turned out that the car wasnt breathing right - I had originally blocked up the AIS but without this being opened we couldnt even get the correct setting for CO at idle.

Even with this opened it was touch and go at fast idle (for some reason it was still sucking in air once the engine was upto temperature)

in the end everything went green in the last 5 seconds of the test

I had originall taken the car to a rolling road but this was set up as per the theoretical air/fuel ratio but the reality was my engine decided these settings didnt suit - I burnt out 2 testing machines on my 1st retest so got my moneys worth anyway

the local sevens club had bought a 2nd hand gas analyser and the guy who tweaked the powercommander settings has had (or help build) numerous BECs and CECs in the past so knows his way around engines (has probably forgotten more than I will ever know !!!) . He ended up spending approx 5 hours over 2 nights trying to sort out the emissions and said it was the most difficult car he had had to set up
