Hi,
I have just purshased a second hand voxtx, and have notice a few funny nosies.
The question is........ i have the race leda 4 pot capliers (r-16) fitted on the front, and the brake pads seem to be lose fit in the caplier, there
is pin which holds the pads in, but should there be some kind of shim fitted??
Thanks
Luke.
are the brakes coming on ?? sure you haven't got a sticking piston.
brakes work well, i have the car on the ramp at this time and the wheels turn fine when the brake is off. The car has only done 1400miles and on 2008 plate.
one piston gould be stuck in ??
It's like the there should be a spring or a shim to stop the brake pad rattling around in the caplier. Should there be one fitted!
Luke it's a common problem with the outlaw's which is what the raceleda calipers are with a different name etched on them. It's due to
the lack of wear shims where the pads are sitting and the pins too small in diameter. It needs to be stopped from happening as the pads will start to
wear the caliper body away and create a ridge which the pads can dig into giving all sorts of problems later in there life.
All you need to do to stop it is increase the size of the sleeve that the retaining bolt goes through. It needs to be 12mm dia rather than the 9mm
Or do this
