Hello all, I could use some help from the MNR experts on here.
To keep the story short and to the point I aquired a chassis that can best be described as an RGB spec', 7 silhouette, a really nice 1 off
special made from round seamless tube with an integrated MSA roll cage from caged, designed to take a ZX10R lump.
It was a bit of a rush buy and so I don't have all the information about the original designers intent but much research and investigation of the
parts I have done suggests that it has been designed to use MNR suspension, the rear uprights are definatly MNR items and I have the rear end pretty
much sussed out now.
I am struggling more with the front though, most notably the mounting of the shocks. The chassis was supplied with two Cortina font uprights that I
believe MNR use and two lower wishbones, it has been designed to take a MK2 Escort steering rack.
There are no shock/pushrod mounts on the lower wishbones (they are unpainted and unfinished) but there are mounts for the top of the shock on the
chassis in what looks like standard outboard suspension position. It seems though that the MNR Vortx uses Pushrod suspension at the front, but maybe
the designer intended to use the outboard geometry of the Vortx Mazda?
What I would be really appreciative of is if anyone has the geometry of the front suspension of an MNR (to see if it matches mine) and if it does some
help to loate the bottom shock mount in the right place on the wishbone. But if I could get the geometry information I would like to copy the inboard
suspension geometry of the Vortx for mine.
Also lengths of the shock/strut units would help.
Lastly if anyone fancies posting any pictures showing the front and rear suspension set-ups of an MNR it would be very much appreciated.
Sorry for the long story but I am aiming to get the car sat on its wheels by the end of Feb' to make sure the project doesn't stall and any
help is appreciated
Cheers
This what mine looks like with Sierra uprights...
