mnr zzr1400 first track day
INDY BIRD - 12/2/11 at 10:34 PM

well was at brands today was very wet in the morning so ltd track time due to lots of red flags and some damaged cars, on the first lap a bmw hit the barrier at druids,

They even called all the drivers back to the briefing room as there where that many probelms with red flags, longest was 40 mins when a caterham and a mx5 crashed into each other, to say they looked bad was a understatement, the caterham rippled the front wheel clean off but the best thing wast the bolts to the wheel where still holding the centre of the wheel on the car it snapped it off around the spokes nasty and rear chassis looked bent up bad,

so not that much track time, only afternoon really as we let all the idiots crash or retire after they blew there cars up 5 in total today,

one a porche 944 turbo blew up so he stopped on the straight got out the car, opened the bonnet with his passenger out the car aswell with cars still on track what a plonker , cars where even ignoring red flags grrrr

i started the day well with the noise test, the double exhaust cans fitted it came in at 89 db yes 89 db i couldnt believe it, even at 6k well chuffed should get on any track with it,

car peformed well some minor teething problems to sort out but all in all the car was great i must say i was pretty happy with the way it handled, front end may be a little firm poss change springs to soften slightly, but rear grip was very predictable, plenty of power and turn in was sharp, brakes awesome, all in all a good car,

so cant wait for the next day out very soon did get some video and will edit in the week for you tube,

cheers all

Glad it went well, I bet the cars a good weapon on track.

INDY BIRD - 13/2/11 at 10:41 AM

hi the brakes are the raceleda uprights and calipers, x drilled and grooved dics,

rears are std calipers with x drilled and grooved discs,

yep car was very good on track power was good,

must say i did have some teething problems

breather from engine need to fit catch tank, same for the reverse gearbox,

the x bracing on the drivers fllor takes some getting used too as can interfear with your feet as you heels can get caught up,
clutch was a little sticky on the peddle,

throttle peddle was a little sticky at times need to put stonger return spring on,

front end prob softer springs required or double adjustables required as is a bit boucy on lift off on a bend where surtees / mclaren was it could bump a little,

other than that all in all a good first outing,

will get some video up at some point wasnt our quickest but hey first time out what can i expect,

cheers all
