engine + gbox mounts

Evening all,
Sat the engine and gearbox into the vortx this weekend (2.0 silvertop zetec onto type 9) with some blocks the same size as CBS's large engine mounts from memory and i was contemplating using something like the westfield gearbox mount. Looking at it the engine needs to come up aprox another inch to drop the back end of the box down onto the mounting plate because at the minute is almost touching the top of the tunnel. Also one of the gearbox fins at the back end touches the mounting plate.
I've only literally rested it all in there and not taken a good look at it so it might all become obvious at the weekend but i thought as i was on here I would ask. So does anyone have any pictures or can tell me what you have just to get some ideas flowing.

Cheers

John

can you not use the standard mounts? or is the zetec not sitting on its mounts it the donor? i know when mnr made my chassis, the s2000 lump sits on its original mounts and through the pre welded plates mnr built into the chassis!

I used horse matting (very thick 25mm rubber) as engine mounts on my Zetec, and the westfield mount on the gearbox, but it rubbed the tunnel still like you say and it was impossible to fix in place, so i cut the gearbox mount plate out(the one on the chassis) fixed the westfield rubber mount to the gear box with a large plate (5mm thick) and then bolted the plate to the bottom of the car. ill get some pics.

This is where gearbox sat but fins rubbed and engine wasnt infar enough, and id never reach the gear stick............

And with the engine attached it wouldnt go in......

So..... with that plate cut out the way and another plate bolted on bottom of chassis rail it fit nice and snug - and i can just reach reverse.
