My neighbour has offered me the use of her (very small) garage to build my car in. How big will the finished car be? Will it fit?

A crane? No, the garage has got a door. Any car that fits in there can be driven out. Or have I missed a trace of a joke some where? Allow me to improve my grammar.

My neighbour has offered me the use of her rather small garage in which to build my car.
Of what dimentions will my finished vehicle aproximate? Will it fit into a small garage? Might there be a lack of room in which to assemble my soon-to-be-delivered project?

Assuming you're using a Sierra donor, I'd have thought it will be pretty much exactly the same width (due to the fact that the rear axle is the same) - so that's 1720mm wide give or take. Lengthwise it's much shorter than the Sierra. Taking some (admittedly rough) measurements from some photos of my car I'd say it's about 2.7m long. So you'll need a garage that big plus a bit so that you can fit in there too!

although bigger is better if you are just assembling a kit it can be done in a single car garrage I am building my car(from scratch Locost) in that sort of space it just means that sometimes you will have to move things about and or think carefully about how you are going about the job .any way free space NEXT DOOR that is just big enough is far better than paid for bigger space further away from home .

We have the same problem, so we made a trolly with casters. I don't intend putting the suspension/wheel arches on permently till latter so we can still work in the garage. Then it's only around 1m wide...

Sorry about the crane bit mate, stupid sense of humour here.
I know someone who rebuilt a MK2 Escort, welding/spraying the lot in a tiny garage.... i thought he was mad but he made a pukka job and one that many bodyshops would have been proud to have done.

All comes down to how ingenius you get with the space and tools you have.

the garage measures 2.4m by 4.3. the (new) VortX is fractionally wider than a locost in the body but should still be less than 1.2m giving me 600mm either side of the body or 300mm either side of the rear wheels. That probably enough. I just need an extra long extension lead.

given the dimensions I would definitely go cfor a trolley with castors easy to make and it will allow you to move the car over to one side and for some jobs that will make areal diifference as i said before a small space next door will do and i bet there are a lot of things that you can do at home and you can focus on assembley in the garrage .
