After reading the SVA manual I have some idea but as per usual it is a little vague. I am at the stage were I need to cut the harness holes in my GRP
seats and then mount my harnesses. What are the main areas to consider. I understand that the harnesses are not allowed to touch the seats unless the
seat is a stressed component?
Do the harnesses need to be a certain height above the shoulders?
Any help or failure woes will be of use!
Thanks
There is a minimum height for the belt holes above the seat base. The SVA Inspector will use a special tool (with spirit level and bits of string
etc...) to measure this.
I had a problem with the upper belt mounting being too low. This can cause spinal compression in an accident and so they insist upon a certain height
above the seat.
Check my photo archive for the solution I used.
