MNR cortina wingstays + raceleda calipers??????
NS Dev - 24/10/05 at 12:21 PM

how do you fit both on one car??

wingstays seem to conflict with calipers???

I have mauled my stays now anyhow to clear the caliper bolt but wondered how others did it?

hi nat i think your the first in that cofiguration, normally the raceleda calipers are fitted in conjuction with the uprights, would be interested in a pic for future referance to see what mods need to be done

best regards

No probs Marc,

Basically where the tube loops round the three mount bolts, it needs relieving exactly opposite the upper rear mount tube, by about 8mm, to clear the caliper mount bolt head (if using M12 capheads for the caliper)

I'm afraid my mod was a bit agricultural (just squashed the tube a bit using some bar a touch bigger than the bolt head) but I can take a pic when it's done.

Shame cos the powdercoat finish on those stays puts most of the kit world to shame!!!!

on the mnr website it lists sierra, cortina and raceleda stays. Which puts me in a quandry because i need new stays, and i'm considering upgrading to raceleda at some point

Best to speak to Marc.

Despite my "alterations" the standard of parts recieved from MNR far exceeds anything that I have bought elsewhere!

Just as well marc couldn't hear me cursing when I tried to fit the wingstays after machining some lovely fitting spacers for them though!

if you want them repowdercoating send them up and will sort for you

Cheers Marc. I'll finish the alterations at the weekend and see how things look.

Must emphasise to all on here that the only mod required if you weren't being an awkward bugger like me would be the bump to clear the head on the caliper bolt!

The other change is because I am using cycle wings from ST which are smaller than the MNR ones and thus don't reach the rear part of the stay, so nothing to do with MNR!!!
