hi, looking for some info from people with direct knowledge of the above...
what issues / difficult points of the build and SVA compliance will i come across?
(i.e. non suppressed coil leads.../ which sender to use for the tank with carbed engine.../ is carbed the better choice.../ and the rest...?)
looking forward to your replies and as always any replies will be greatly appreciated, ta
I found most of it quite easy. The hardest points were
1) all the filing to make things fit. Buy a dremmel
2) wiring the horn. The wiring chart is a bit wrong. I have posted a solution on here.
3) getting the engine to start. It turned out to be a broken wire.
It is quite a lot of work but it is worth it in the end.
Hi.
I'm building a VortX with a FI R1 (2003)
Although not finished it's been a very straightforward job.
Wil take quite a few hours, but it's great watching the beast born...
I would choose a FI R1 again; with a powercommander you can fine tune it.
Joao
with a carb engine the power delivery is more fierce
The biggest problem I've found is the build manual doesn't match my car!
I'm using the manual as more of a guide as Marc updates the chassis when he becomes aware of problems or works out a better way to do things.
Bear in mind you're not buying a simple bolt together kit, things won't fit and will require some ingenuity. It's a fantastic process
and MNR will help you all the way
cheers everyone
Just buy the Rt plus then, everything fits brilliantly!!!
mine is now looking supurb
Krismc, and all, how about sva issues??
Mine passed its sva first time...
No issues with the car at all.. most fails are around emissions (gas and noise), so thats worth setting up right but it affects any BEC
cant see any SVA issues arrising due to every thing been hiden away or neatly curved
