which insurance company for MNR inc track cover?
bitsilly - 18/11/06 at 02:43 PM

I had intended to use Herts (HIC) for insurance as they include track cover for free, however, they do not have MNR as a kit car manufacturer, neither could they tell me how MNR could go about getting themselves on their books - something to do with the IT dept they said!
Adrian Flux have quoted me £238 for 3K miles a year but do not offer track cover.
So does anyone know if this is a fair offer, and could anyone tell me how much it is for daily cover at a track, or a company who both has MNR on their computer and include track cover?
Cheers
Ed

Forgot to say I'm 38, clean licence and a claim 4 yrs ago.

I used HIC this year. They didn't have the Indy on their system either but they added it manually after I explained what it was and they visited the website. I'd go back to them if I was you and ask them to add the MNR the same way if they want your business. I got all in for 400 ish quid with unlimited trackday cover and a 70 quid excess rising to 500 when on track.

If you do a decent number of trackdays it is far cheaper than daily cover which is about 90 quid for 5k, usually with a 1k excess.

Cheers, I'll try again.
Marc, any chance you or Chris could tell them about yourselves??
They are on 08451290290

I'm waiting for someone in authority to ring me to discuss but HIC are still not interested in "that type of car", the fact that they insure seven types and indys and Macs etc seems to make no difference!
What is so different about an MNR? They actually said it is too much like an Atom and the Atoms have too many track related claims.

Have managed to get them to recognise the MNR Vortx as an umbrella category to cover all variations of Vortx.
Phew!
