A nice cosey build area you have there! It certainly is a good looking chassis. Good luck!

Dude..you have a tree in your workshop....

Simon - 27/2/07 at 12:58 AM

Just avoid using the darts - you don't want to be hitting the wire with all that shiny plastic lying around

Nahhh, I thought I would stick with the engine from the donor car.......

TimC - 27/2/07 at 08:15 AM

Erm... I think I know why mine might be taking so long. My footwell panels have 100 holes for rivets in them (49 and 51).

I'm guessing yours have about 17 a side.

100 ? seriously? errrrmm......why ??

Your drill holes must be so close together, it will be almost like one long split in your chassis. Don't brake too hard.!!

Wow! You already own a tractor! (Last pic, background)

Very nice orange colour! Although, are you sure with the green cycle wings?

Have fun with the build!

Gergely
p.s. is it your garage or living room?

Too many conversations with Matt @ Procomp - they do every panel at 30mm intervals.

Basically I looked to see what would give me a nice even spread across the panels and 30mm/inch worked. I've also done the diaganals which obviously bumps-up the rivet count. I'm also powdercoating the panels so I think it'll look the business.

I NEVER said I'd make it easy for myself!

All orange !!! Luckily the GREEEEN bits weren't for me

Gergely - 27/2/07 at 04:29 PM

Sure, realised that! But is that the day glow orange that the MNR demonstrator had or the regular colour?
Also the front wings are black and orange on the pic just like the demonstrator. Was that at an extra cost? How is that done? Painted?

The colour I chose was RAL 2004 - pure orange , see chart :

LINKY

The black stripe in the front arches is inserted in the mould / gel coat, with no visible join....perfect.!!!

Krismc - 27/2/07 at 09:57 PM

thats the same as me.... Ral 2004, just a note on this colour!!

B&Q use this colour as there logo, and also plasticote use this Ral code as there main bright orange spray can, so colour coding is easy and effective got loads of cans if you cant find any!!!!!

coozer - 27/2/07 at 10:02 PM

Good luck with your build mate, I've had mine two weeks now and am no where near that stage.

Just a couple of observations, front will have to come off to get the body on and aren't the brake master cylinders on the wrong way round for the balance bar??

Check mine out in my blog.....

Yeah, the front stuff is only fitted loosely, no worries. Surely the bias bar can be fitted either way round ?

All paint manufacturers and suppliers use the "ral" code, paint is therefore easily available.

Don't think I'll bother with B&Q stickers though..!!!!

coozer - 1/3/07 at 09:50 PM

Checked the brake cylinder orientation out at MNR yesterday.

Marc reckons you can use ether way round unless your using a remote bias adjuster.

Interesting he told me the opposite and I had to change mine around...

lol

marc n - 2/3/07 at 08:26 PM

its only a problem on
a. bike engined cars ( not enouigh weight for bias to be ok both ways )
b. if you wanna fit a dash adjuster as the cable would go through the clutch pedal

best regards

marc
