Well, everything's finally underway. About 6 years after we first started thinking about it, 3 years after we bought our donor sierra, we've
ordered a VortX (RT with Inboard suspension), picking up in early May.
Swmbo and I have even agreed on a colour (that took about 3 days, with the RAL charts, and we had "finally" decided on about 6 colours..).
Now we've just got to finish cleaning the boat anchor (I mean Pinto), and other bits, so they're nice and shiny when they get bolted on.
Marc's going to build the chassis to take a bike engine in the future, so we can swap to something more buzzy later....
I'm hoping the time in between is going to fly by... I'm sure I'll find something to fill it with (cleaning bits and building the
blog / website maybe)
Cheers all,
Vince
Hi Vince
Well done. What colour did you decide on then?
Rgds
TC
we've gone for Ruby red - quite dark so it (hopefully) doesn't fade, with black inserts to the arches and dash - I think they break up the
car nicely, particularly at the back....
How's yours going, or are you still in house mode?
Slowly - blog just updated. Reddy-pinky-marroon was one of the colours that I considered but I decided against it on the grounds that I knew
it'd lead to jibes about dubious sexuality etc.
Ruby sounds cool though. I want to see someone do a mid yellowy-green. Saw it on a Caterham and it looks 'kin cool!

sounds that you are starting to get a little excited about picking up your kit- i bet you cant tell me im wrong!
if it has taken you 3 years to dismantle your donor, heaven knows how long it will take you to build it!
ONLY KIDDING!!!
im sure that in 5 weeks time you will be posting again "ONE WEEK TO GO!"
make sure you take lots of photos when you go pick it up, so that you can share them all with us!
and finally..... PINTO POWER RULES!!!!!
ITS ALL ABOUT THE PINTO!!!!!!
Well done Vinny, just remember to start up a blog and within 2 days of collecting your kit you will be in advance of Tim.
Sorry Tim don't want to offend you BUT...
If it wasn't so bloody cold here in gods allotment I'm sure mine would be finished by now... oh. and funds allowing.
Just another thing.. Pinto Power sucks... V8's rule.. IMHO
Sorry forgot, 2 stroke MotoGp bikes of old. Now, they really rule!

Not sure about GRP in particular, but red normally fades and starts to go pink in a few years, especially if it gets parked outside in bright
sunshine. I'm also a bugg3r for not cleaning cars - I'd much rather be driving...
That wasn't the main reason for choosing the colour though - it was about the only one (other than black) that swmbo and I both liked!!
