I had to take my front wheels off at the weekend to fit my raceleda ally hubs and I ran into a bit of a problem.
The wheels can't be removed with the arches fitted as the outside lip doesn't give enough room for the wheel to lift over the brake
caliper.
It wasn't an issue as I had to take the arch brackets off anyway but I don't want to have to do that everytime I take the front wheels off!
Did anyone have to trim the outer lip?
Chocky,
But assume that you are running Cortina upright with raceleada hubs and disc's.
Other option would undoing the 3 wing stay to upright be any easier.
I have to take my arches of to take my wheels off. But in my mind dont mind as it keeps a lot of the water and crus of you and the bodywork.
Ps will be going down the same route as you shortly.

How strange, do your wing stays come pre-bent then? I know I had to bend mine on my GTS, and I made it so the wheel will *just* come off past the wing. Damed tight though!
The MNR wings are VERY wrap-around. I would think that you need to make a decision about where your priorities are.
I still haven't decided what I'm doing.

Priorities include buying wife waterproof trousers as she didn't like the bin bag, oh and not driving the car in torrential downpours
Mine come off but it is a bit of a fiddle. I have sierra front uprights though. the arch mounting brackets are different.
Also, I trimmed my wings for length so they start higher up at the front than some. Perhaps thats why I gan do mine. There is scope for trimming the
sides too.
I noticed the same on my MNR (Dions old car). Ended up having to undo all of his good work to get the front wheels off. So I have just bought another set of arches to trim right (Atleast I can still drive the car whilst I get these sorted).
i can get my wheels off with the arches on- but is a struggle and probably safer to remove arches!
so in a emergency you would be all right!
I trimmed along the outside edge. The wheels now come off with a little fiddling.
Steve.
yep they can be trimmed to suit an example of which is wyns car in the other thread
