A few questions
donut - 23/7/07 at 08:38 PM

Thinking about my next project and was told to look at the MNR. Yes TOLD! anyhoo was wondering how efective that scuttle is against the wind. A Westfield aeroscreen is fine on an Indy so would the MNR one be as good at getting the wind over your head?

Also how wide is the cockpit. Would it be the same as an Indy?

And lastly (for now) Is the kit available less bodywork?

Thanks

He he!! time is a great healer. I'm twiddlin my thumbs and fancy building again. I was always happy when building these things. Maybe i'll keep this one......or sell it and build another, who knows!!

TOLD ohh i get TOLD to go to the garage when corrie is on !!!

Cockpit width as wide ( poss a little more as tunnel has been slimmed to the minnimum).

Scuttle is dependant on hight and seat really but if your struggling you can add the extra deflector.

The less bodywork - dunno but not sure why you would want one less bodywork !! care to enlighten us

donut, build from scratch it will take you longer and you will be more attached to the car at the end of the day so you may just keep it a bit longer before you flog it!

Maybe...maybe not?!?!? Thing is i was only ever happy with my hobby while building. I may just have to build for the rest of my life

Agriv8: The reason about the bodywork is that i'm on a tight budget and won't need the bodywork for a long time and i have no where really to store it.

caber: I can't weld and i'm no good at that sort of thing!!

Ohh I see its not a case of not wanting the bodywork - Its a case of wanting it later in the build.

The Only issue with that approach is that the 1 pice tub usually goes on just after the running brake lines and loom.

You could dry build your suspension on but most of this would have to come back off for tub fitting.

we can supply separatly, but normally the cost and hassle of a second visit to collect negates the initial saving, at least if you take the chassis and main tub then if you do come and collect the rest it will fit in a car rather than having to hire another van
cabin width each side 440mm
wind deflector can be added on top of scuttle depending on height and seat type
