I have an 05 R1 and was wondering how to wire the fuel pump. The MNR loom I have for the car has provision for a fuel pump but so does the bike loom
that came with the engine.
My question is do I use the fuel pump wiring in the MNR loom, which I presume is just a constant power supply or do I use the wiring from the bike
loom?
Does the ECU control the fuel pump on the bike?
I am trying to get straight in my tiny mind what I need to keep from the bike loom.
I used both!
Why?
A) you need the power supply in the back (MNR loom)
B) you need ECU to control the fuel pump (bike loom)
So I wired the fuel pump to a relay commanding the MNR's loom fuel pump circuit, right after the fuses.
Best of both worlds
Cheers,
Joao

Agreed, you can use one, the other, or both... im sorry, as this really isnt any help to you when i do mine ill be doing it like JC. using the bike loom to switch a relay on the MNR loom
I see, that makes more sense now.
Hey guys,
i've also been trying to get my head around the wiring for the fuel pump, on 2005 r1
i've draw a diagram to what i think i need to do
from reading the above.
or do i need an extra relay, as i think the bike loom has one already?

i had issues with my mnr loom, for some reason i only had one connecting wire for my fuel pump( a pink one) at the rear of the car.
strange how it never made its way to the relays, or else where so i ended up running my own...apart from that the loom was faultless!!
John, that's exactly how I understand it and how I am going to do mine, that way the bike ecu will control when the fuel pump is running.
