Hi, We've got an R1 02-03 and are fitting the MNR supplied sump baffle. Should we need to make a hole for the big plastic oil pressure/temp
sensor bolted to the bottom of the sump?
Alan
I had a 98 R1 sump baffle from MNR. I made a hole for the oil level sensor. Some people prefer to remove the sensor and fit a blanking plate on the sump pan.
Yes,
You need cut cut a hole out of the baffle plate for the oil level switch.
Well the oil level sensor isn't that effective so you could just do without it (use an oil pressure gauge - plenty of advice on here). You can
remove just the sensor bit, leaving the bit that plugs the hole in the sump - save you making a blank.

Will there be any warning lights on the dash if we removed the level sensor as were using the stock R1 clocks?

I cut my sensor flush and use a piece of ally seal against it.
For the light - a piece of black insulating tape over the light
