How close to the ground at the rear do you fit them? I have marked them up to have 3 inches clearance. I want them to stop stones being thrown up but don't want them to collect everything either. Just thought I'd ask on here before I get carried away with the dremel and cut the holes for the brackets.

Just shape them to your own tastes...

They are EASILY long enough for you to apply your own take on how they should look!

I made Tim's with a sloping curve (hard to describe in detail) to the front and a Uniform curve round the centre to the rear and they looked the best I've ever seen the arch look, but thern I would say that wouldn't I!!!

If you want them to deflect the most stones, simply place them on the wingstays and look to see if you can see the bottom of the tyre........

Mine were to close to the ground originally and I couldn't get out of my driveway which is on an incline without them grounding.

They have now been re-fitted with just enough clearance to get out + allow me to drive over speed bumps and I don't have any issues with stones flying up. I will measure them tonight when I get home and let you know how low they are.

^^^That's exactly what I want to avoid.

Just measured my front cycle wings and the clearance to the ground is 3.5" which is about as low as i would want to go

Thanks for that Neil, I have one in place now but now the wheel won't go in. I guess it's a case of trimming back the overhang on the side to give enough clearance. I don't know why but what looks to be a really simple job is taking me ages.
