speedyxjs - 19/4/08 at 08:19 AM

I can only see one problem. You seem to have accidently dropped a bike engine in
Sorry, looks great. I wish i was anywhere near that stage

bassett - 19/4/08 at 10:33 AM

Looks great, especially under the bonnet with the hoses. How have you kept the wiring so non existent?
Adam

hahaha, yea i just noticed that today

infact my missus friends 6 year old kid pointed it out to me

Adam

all the wiring is routed through the tunnel to the dash and all the busa ecu/loom etc along with the battery is in the passanger footwell

it only started looking like a car a few days ago when i fitted the body work and wheels, up until then it was just a frame with an engine in it with lots of confusing wires

all the best to everyone in there build and cheers for the comments

Finlay

TimC - 19/4/08 at 04:33 PM

That nose cone looks evil in black

Agriv8 - 20/4/08 at 10:00 AM

Very nice - Like the colour.

PS a tip for you.

Black marker pen arround the inside edge of the suspension holes.

The nose in black MMMmmmmm a tad menacing.

regards

Agriv8

richardh - 18/6/08 at 02:41 PM

looks superb - great work in 30 days
one question - does yours have a cable or hydraulic clutch? if cable - do you have a very very small biting point.
my r1 does and i can be fun and embarrasing when it stalls

its hydraulic, and yes it seems to have a very small biting point, havent been for a proper spin yet but from blasting it up the drive its gonna be fun

cheers

stuart_g - 18/6/08 at 03:00 PM

Looks very .

40 days to get that far, If it's anything like my build is going at the moment it will take another 40 days with the finishing touches.

Get the SVA paperwork filled out and sent off

finlay - 18/6/08 at 05:50 PM

That looks really good in black. I'm not quite sure about these cars in certain colours but this one looks awesome.

finlay - 19/6/08 at 07:31 AM

thanks gents

road warrior - 20/6/08 at 11:14 AM

Hi Finlay

The car looks great. What RAL code is the colour?

TimC - 20/6/08 at 12:25 PM

Looks nice-nice-nice! If I were you I'd go for a big filter element now that the bonnet is cut (very neat BTW!).

Mine's at the same stage and has taken 5 times as long!

Snap-off - 2/7/08 at 10:31 PM

I love that nosecone! Is it just me or does it remind you of:

finlay - 4/7/08 at 12:04 PM

nice comparisson, like it

i knew it reminded me of something

clutch_kick - 4/7/08 at 01:07 PM

That is fantastic .... yes the resemblance just kept nagging me in the back of my head, but i just couldn't picture it!!!!

MNR should trademark the nose, call it something like ...' the ripper ' hehehehe

I'm imagining that car in Carbon fibre effect, all black, with a few cunningly placed ooze and green acid squirts, subtly airbrushed on it.

finlay - 3/8/08 at 09:13 AM

failed SVA on 28/7/08

now struggling with emissions, i ve got a few things to try along with a bigger CAT, hopefully be on the road soon

finlay - 5/8/08 at 03:07 PM

well her she is completed ready for sva number 2 on 22/8/08, cant wat to get rid of the ford steering wheel

cheers

TimC - 5/8/08 at 03:30 PM

Very nice! Are you going to paint the little aluminium brackets on the front wings?

I'm very tempted by the practicality of those mirrors!

Gergely - 5/8/08 at 04:08 PM

Nice! I like it! I wish we were this far...
Do you have a picture of what you have done to the bodywork where the exhaust pipes exit the body? You had a rectangular hole there, I would be interested to see your solution.
Also, are you planning to use a bonnet bulge or just leave the filter like that?
And finally, what is that shiny piece of metal visible between the steering wheel spokes on the dashboard picture? It seems that you have something by the pedals on the floor... ?
Thanks!
Gergely

sucksqueezebangblow - 5/8/08 at 04:17 PM

Hi Finlay,

Looking good. What is boxed in in the passenger foot well? The battery?

finlay - 6/8/08 at 03:31 PM

hi all

Tim C - na, i m not going to paint the alloy plates on the front wings, they are to make the wings abit more secure than just self tappers

Gergely - i m not sure if im going to fit a bonnet scoop or not, i was going to originally but i quite like it flat

on the exhaust exit hole i have an alloy plate shaped and fitted on, also i have a new carbon can comming so i will take a pic when i fit it

they are return springs for the throttle peddle

Clive - the passanger footwell behind the plate is where all the ECU, battery, voltage regulator, starter solinoid etc etc is, you can access everything from a hatch under the bonnet or by unbolting the plate and removing, all the rust stains are all the metal shavings rusted, they have stained the floor alittle but will polish up

cheers
