I just thought that I would let you all in, on the S2000 powered RT+ that I am building.
I picked the kit up in the middle of April and have now reached the stage were I have got the engine running.
Here are a couple of pictures

Wow, that is one full engine bay. I can almost climb into mine. That's a very shiny pipe too. Can the inlet plenum and rocker cover be polished up a bit to match? Should be a very nice car.

Verrrry nice - just being inquisitive - why the very long intake pipe - at first I thought you had a turbo on it.

How can I possibly criticise that install! However the long metal inlet pipe will pick up some heat from the rad and exhaust. So wrap it (sacrilege obviously) or just have some decent engine bay vents and that'll help a lot.

MNR and vtec power would be my dream car.

I am going to run the AEM 30-1052U stand alone ECU. Right now I am running the stock ECU, just to make sure that all the wiring is correct. It’s been a huge job sorting the S2000 wiring harness out.

Some of the guys that i know that have the honda engine fitted in lotuses use the hondata ECU's
The Hondata K-pro is a very good ECU, especially if you are going to pass emissions tests, because it retains OBD2, it is a stock Honda ECU with a
piggy bag. It is not plug and play on the S2000, you have to change a couple of sensors. Including the parts you have to change, I think that it is
about 2200-2400 $ + shipping and tax, witch makes it pretty expensive. I don’t know if it requires you to keep all the emission stuff on the car, I
think it might.
The AEM EMS is more hardcore, no Honda functions are pre-programmed, and everything needs to be adjusted. It has a lot more inputs and outputs, making
it great for custom engines and forced induction. The AEM is plug and play, but can not be used on emissions controlled cars. The AEM including
wideband, sells for about 1700$ + shipping and tax.
I chose the AEM because I am building a track only car and because I know the ECU very well from another build.
Chris mentioned to me, when I was picking the kit up, that there was a guy not to far from them ,that was an expert on the ECU and wiring, I don’t
know what ECU he is using, but it may be a good solution if anybody else are going for the S2000 engine

Almost there, had it for a 4 wheel measurement yesterday, I have a couple a pictures of when I had it on the trailer.
I am working on the lighting and other cosmetic things now, I hope to get it finished in the next 10 days.
Hopefully I will get it to the dyno next week, to get the engine management adjusted, I will get back to you with a dyno plot.

The exhaust is a twin loop muffler, I have chosen this design because of the very high flow combined with low noise. I don’t think that the muffler
that most people on here use will flow enough for a 2,0 litre engine revving to 9000 rpm, the S2000 engine loves a free flowing exhaust, the ideal
setup would have bin a 3” strait through resonator, but that would have bin way to loud, most tracks around here have a 95 db noise limit.
The exhaust I have on is a cheap 75$ Ebay muffler, but quality is acceptable.
I know that some will love the design and some will hate the design, I am in the first category.
The exhaust manifold (Header) is the stock unit, that I have modified to fit, I am a little bit nervous that this is going to rob a lot of power,
because the S2000 engine is very sensitive to the design of the exhaust manifold

Here is another update.
I have finished the build a couple of weeks ago, and I am now trying to get rid of all the small errors I have made, I have had some trouble with the
oil pressure on my drysump, overheating ECU and liquid gasket in the fuel line, these things have set me back a couple of weeks.
It seems that I have sorted these things out now, and I have today adjusted the engine management on the Dyno. The result is not what I have hoped, it
only made around 220 hp, I am pretty sure it is because of the modification I have made to the exhaust manifold, I have added 15 cm of pipe to the
primaries, in order to get it to fit.
I will tray to get one of the good Header builders to make me a custom exhaust manifold this winter.
Here is a video of one of the dyno runs, the sound is not to god because of the noise from the fan, but you get a good idea of the sound and power of

This Monday I will be at my first trackday at Knutstorp in Sweden, I will let you know how it drives.

I have also fitted a Sparco steering wheel last night, it is 30 cm in diameter, 6 cm smaller that the S2000, much better size.
Here is the dyno plot, you can see that the power falls off about 500 rpm to soon.
The reason that I have been able to finish the build so fast is because that I have had 9 weeks of work this summer, where I have bin building full
time.

Had a great time at the track today. Despite some further problems with the fuel line clogging up (I am a big idiot using way to much liquid gaskets
sealing the fuel level sender) I did get a lot of laps in the car. I must say that I am pleasantly surprised, it did only take me about 20 laps to get
a good feel for the car, it is a easy car to learn and not a lot of over steer as I have feared. The car is very fast, but not scary fast. It handles
the power very well, it dos not feel like it has too much power. It is a lot faster than a Porsche Cayman and a little slower than a Porsche GT3. It
is really easy to control a power slide thru the slow corners in 2. gear and because of the torque the engine has, you can be fast out of the corners
with out being in a low gear.
Only thing a bit disappointing was the brakes, they did not feel good. I have the Raceleda R16 4 piston callipers and circa 245x9mm non vented rotors.
I weighed the car the other day and I was very surprised that it fully tanked weighed 690KG, this is more than 100KG heavier than I expected, with me
in the car the total weight is close to 780KG. With this weight I don’t think the small 245mm rotors are up for the job, you have to use VERY hard
pedal pressure to get a decent stopping power, so much that it is hard to control the braking and it is impossible to lock up the front wheels (with
Proxis R888) witch I feel you should be able to do. I am thinking of upgrading the brakes to some vented 260 or 285 mm Wilwood brakes, combined with
some low temperature pads, what do you think? I am thinking of this kit:

As for the brakes, my first call would be Marc. Check it with him before investing in another brake setup. The Racelada are supposed to be pretty
strong, should be no problems locking the wheels, so there might be something else causing what you experienced as weak brakes. I would say try to
fiddle with your current setup before you spend money on another setup...

Sort the brakes and next time you will be a little faster than the GT3...

sounds like either, master cylinders incorrect way round or balance bar not adjusted correctly, or moving correctly

Marc, I have the front to the 0.625 master cylinder and the rear to the 0.7 master cylinder like it says in the build manual. Balance bar is circa in
the middle, the rear was not locking up under hard breaking.
The balance bar moves freely in the brake pedal.
There is no air in the system, the pedal is firm.
Would the extra weight from a bigger front brake setup, hurt the handling notably?
Don’t the extra 200kg over a light bike engine car mean anything for the brakes?
With a car as fast as this is, I would like to be confident of the brakes, even on a track with a short strait, the car reaches more than 200 km/h.

I have the long end of the bias bar towards the accelerator pedal!?
Maybe it just because I drive an Astra VXR as my road car and it has extremely good brakes, so it might be hard getting used to the feel of brakes
without a brake booster and lots of grip.

you should be able to lock the brakes definately, so somthing isnt quite right somewhere , have you tried the bias bar in a different position ???
