Flames ???
Wells - 26/7/08 at 09:43 AM

I was out a blast last night and on the way home it was getting dark. I noticed that the hedge rows i was passing were glowing yellow and my passanger had a worried look on his face in fear of his fleece going up in smoke from the flames coming from the exhaust !!! Is this normal?

Absolutely

Well it was on my old X-Flow engine!

Depends on the mixture. It's not ideal to have unburnt fuel coming out of the exhaust pipe (no power = wasted money). You might run a bit rich at full wack to cool the pistons but not usually enough to burn at the pipe...

it will reduce the life of your silencer packing, good to see the flames.Lots of the cars on the Elise trophy do that and shower the car following with red hot steel wool
