advice needed please

last night on my way home from work a young lassy pulled out in front of me in her Ford Ka me in my VW Golf V5 doing 60, i had no chance of stopping to hit her head on , so i dived to the right taking out some sign posts and then diving nose first into a 6foot deep stream bank and then bounced uo onto the top of the bank.
It was a hell of a shock and even though the car doesnt look to bad ,its a total wright off. All the panel gaps have been closed right up as if the hole chassis is bent up at the front.
Anyway i am ok bar a stiff neck and a red nose from the air bag and even though i didnt hit the woman she had to have a neck brace fitted because she was complaining of pain in the neck and back.
My question is, is it easy to transfer petrol from one car to another, i had just puy 40quid in it and i want it back.
I am going out this morning to get some photos of my car and the scene of the the accident and i will put them up.
Brad.

And after all that your worried about petrol???

Claim it back on the insurance!

Just be glad your not seriously hurt.

I hope they see it as her fault!

newer cars tend to have anti syphone things fitted. Take off a fuel line, but i'm guessing you cant get to it !

Oh and get yourself seen by a specialist, because injuries can take a while to show up.

how can she have a stiff neck if you avoided her? At least she didnt leave the scene though

if you didnt hit her car and there was no damage to it why did she need a neck brace, sound like she going to try for a claim from you insurance. i would get onto my insurance and advise them of this as she is commiting fraud .

i might be wrong but i cant see how she would get injured.

hope your ok

You drove 60mph into a few signposts and went into a ditch and the car looks alright?

glad you are ok, i agree seems bit of a scam on her side with injury without collision, however if you were on main road and she pulled out it would be a claim on her insurance, my initial gut feeling is wonder if it was total accident and she didnt have financial issues and looking for a claim or just a death wish!. as for getting petrol back, i know £40 is £40 but if car is in a ditch is it worth it? not easy to syphon, easy way is to pump out via fuel line, but be carefull assuming the shock sensor would have activated to also isolate the fuel pump will need re-setting, finally i know we moan about cost of fuel but £40 worth is a lot and will need few gerry cans (be interesting if you are seen taking the fuel if some local chaves come over and start nicking the wheels at the same time)

Any witness's?
If you didnt hit her then her insurance are going to argue you over reacted/corrected and the crash was avoidble and is your fault

Forget about the fuel, I put a car into auction once and got less money than the value of the fuel in it, it's just one of those things.
Your bigger worry is if there weren't any witnesses then it could be hard to prove what happened, and this does all seem vary suspect. Are you sure you didn't hit her? or a piece of your car or the signs didn't hit her?

Right , firstly i made a demand that the police be present at the scene even though at the time there was no injuries but having been involved with rta's before and there being no witnesses i thought it prudent.
Secondly, the police and paramedics where not happy with her supposed injuries as nothing touched her car.
Thirdly and most importantly, because the police turned up they where able to obtain a statement before she goes home and concocts a different version of events, so shes admitted blame and i have been told that the police have taken the judgment of non fault collision saying its the best form of accident to be in.
She will have to attend a driver improvement course as punishment.
Checked car over this morning and there is even a dent on the roof from the impact.
Going to check out Auto Trader now for another car.
Thanks fellas
