Vortx Turbo Shakedown

First drive today on a deserted road. Spent the morning having the fueling and timing set-up, then a short blast between showers. All I can say is WOW! 1600cc Mx-5 engine gives a fair shove, then once the turbo spools up it gets a bit mental. Lit the rear tyres up when it hit 6k revs! I can't get the smile from my face. I didn't even get it into 3rd.

Just the lighting and interior to finish, small matter of that IVA thing, then I can play proper.

Ha ha! It was made a little taller. 6' 8" plus my crash helmet leaves about an inch above my head. I would love a sleek looking chopped cage but I end up looking over the front bar!

Having driven this today, I can see why motorsport is moving to 1600 Turbo power. I still keep grinning to myself!

The inlet holes were from Steve Hignett (as are all my carbon arches/wings and scoops) Purely there to allow air to exit from under the bonnet and take some unwanted turbo heat with it. Sat in the passnger seat its like having the blowers on hot!
