Handbrake cable routing.
What is the best routing for the handbrake cable on a VortX?
I guess it's better to route if behind the damper rather than in front of it.
Where should I route it over the wishbones / half shafts?
Is it best to go in through the side of the diff mounting brackets and then turn through 90° to the handbrake lever?

ive a picture of Ian's V8 and hes put them in over the top of the diff and mounted them on the chassis behind the rear panel.

its very similar to how GrahamC's done his, but he riveted the clip to the top corner of the rear upright

thanks for that Rog. Which face of the rear upright did GrahamC rivet it to, the front, the rear or the side (side, face or whatever you want to call
it)?

heh heh.. yes, thats quite a chaotic build you have!
sva man might frown on lighters being so close to fuel pipes!
i must be the only sad git with a carpeted garage who hoovers up after each job!
ah well, could be worse... could be steel spelks in the arse instead!
PS: Colin: i think Graham used the top corner of the 'main' face of the upright, the face where the hub carrier bolts to. it was possible
to get a rivet in without it touching the shock mounting bolt.

Heres how i did mine if it helps. Different car but same concept. (Note - since taking the pics ive P-clipped the handbrake and flexis as the tie wrap
jobbies werent man enough.)
The bit you cant see is that i also p-clipped to the front vertical of the chassis where the wishbones go through.

Drum brake rear. End of cable goes straight into hub. The natural curve of the cable takes it close-ish to one of the vertical chassis tubes, i have
p-clipped it there as well. (If you face the wheel, there are 2 vertical tubes either side of the wishbones, i clipped it to the RH one (to front of
car))
