Interior panels

I am doing my interior "carbon effect" panels and wondered if any of you have fixed the side panels OUTSIDE the chassis as shown below. I actually prefer the look of the car with the chassis visible? It also creates a bit more room ?

Any reasons why not ?

Thre is no reason why you cannot do it this way as long as there are no projections and all edges compliy with minimum raduis.
My F1-2 car has no interior panels and passed sva.

clever
how are they held in, just sealant?

millemg: cant think of any reason why you couldnt.
one thing you might have to be aware of is that they'd have to be well stuck to something to avoid bad vibration buzz. (ive got a bit on the rear panel)
will you be rivetting them to the chassis bars from the outside of the car facing in?

I don't have any interior panels in the "lightweight" version of my kit!

If you put the panels on he outside, you may not get the lip of the bodywork over the top bar, as it's a very tight fit.
If you want to see the chassis, don't fit the panels, you don't want to be halfway through fitting the body and finding it's to tight.

Why not just leave them off if you want the chassis exposed?

I didn't even order the interior panels.

might look a bit naff seeing the inside of the bodywork fibreglass all the time, but I suppose you could do something with it before you put it on. (sand down and spray the inside?)
