balance bar

can anyone tell me how far apart the two
pieces should be on the balance bar? should
they be the same width as the master cylinders?

1st thing.
Make sure the pivot bearing can move from side to side in the tube.

The clevises should be directly in line with the master cylinders so that the pushrods are not working at an angle.

No !!! VERY IMPORTANT

The Clevis trunnions should be set with a minium clearance to the cross tube --- just enough clearance to allow the balance bar to work. The reasons being
(1) It ensures that one circuit will continue to work if the other fails.
(2) It stops the spherical bearing moving from side to side.

I'm not travelling next week, so could pop over to have a look if your about.

Let me Know.

Hi steve, thanks, i'll have a look.
there's not a lot of movement
side to side. the master cylinders
are just about the perfect spacing.
you're welcome round any evening
steve, after 7 ish.
