hello all
i was about to mount the seats but just realised (i hadent looked at or unrapped the seats before now) i dont have any bars to bolt them onto,
is anyone elses chassis like this ?
do i just bolt some flatbar accross the seating area (what spec, thickness etc does the job) as there wasnt any bars with the kit

You don't need flat bars - just load spreading washers and if the triangulation bars interfere with your seating position then you need some
spacers...
Can't see your photo so don't know specific advice, but the above won't be far off!
Steve
Give me a shout if you want/need some spacers making!

Just put big penny washers under the seat bolts. If it's good enough for SVA it's good enough for me.
I did add a ali strip rivetted to the ali floor for the crutch strap attachment though....

Im in the same situation, i know your mainly held in by the harness which go to thick steel plates but i cant help but think the seat mountings look
slightly inadequate.

The seat mountings are really only there to secure the seat. Penny washers as previously to spread the load should be okay. certainly was when I
SVA'd my car last year. Your protection is your harness and that is the main concern, and will probably be more closely checked.

I drilled through the chassis cross member to get one of my seat fixings, the other three are just through the floor. I am thinking of putting two 3mm
ali strips across the underside of the car to give a little more support.
If you haven't got them already MNR have supplied me and a few others with ali spacers to raise the seat above the chassis tube.
As said before the main support is in the harnesses.

If you speak to Marc he will be able to supply the spacers. He ran some off for me a few weeks back and usually keeps a stock.

I did fit mine on runners with the bosses that Marc supplied
but i've found that the seat is too high for the rear harness mounts. so only a 5'10 person can drive it. sadly Lisa is only 5'0

its one of the benifits of working offshore, you have all the consumables you could ever need and all the equipment you would ever need, the only down
fall is that your very limited to what you can take on and off the rig but i havent had any probz so far
