Vortx Handbrake arrangement
Hi
Does anyone have a picture of their handbrake installed? I wen to put mine in I have a westfield handbrake cable (nice and short to fit the sierra
leaver and calipers) a handbrake leaver (out a sierra with drums) and I cant seem to get it to be right.
I dont have a pic at the min but i will attempt to explane.
The halft moon that attaches to the leaver is the same width as the chassie rails so gets stuck. I have the mounts on the chassie bu they seem to
close to the leaver to have the adjustment.
I know this is a bit vague but a picture may help me :-)
Thanks in advance

I thought the Sierra handbrake set up has not good either.
I've used a Rover 200 lever and front clamp along with landrover cables. The cables took a fair bit of fiddling with at the drum end and it may
be easier to get nipples on the sierra cable.
Its a bit more fiddly to adjust but has a much better positive action. The adjustment is better with it down to 2 clicks. With a bit more development
may be an easier install.

I had exactly the same problem with mine and ended up making my own solution by combining the adjuster mechanism from a Rover 200 hand brake and
fixing this to the Sierra hand brake lever.
I used standard Sierra handbrake cable cut down. This method now gives me adjustment on both cables rather than just one as per the Sierra setup.
To adjust the handbrake I simply take the rubber blank plug out from the back panel and insert socket on an extension bar. Works a treat.

HI John,
I made the clamps that fit on the cables out of a piece of steel bar. I drilled a hole through it for the cable to go through and drilled a hole in it
vertically then threaded it, a grub screw top and bottom clamps the cable in place. They are also standard disc brake Sierra cables.
When your ready for them if you let me know I will make you some if you decide to go with that setup.
Cheers
Stu.
