VortX R1 insurance.

Waiting for a quote from 2Gether insurance and hoping its better than Adrian Flux. I had my 2004 ST ZX9R insured with them for £295. 2.0 pinto tiger for £139. Just got a quote for the 2005 VortX R1 and they want £425 with £200 excess and 3000 miles p.a.

Im nearly 52 and its garaged over night PR6 postcode.

Any good quotes for other R1 Vortex owners anywhere I should try??

Try Premium choice, thats who I'm insured with, my last Vortx was a 2005 R1, that was £230 & this one with the Turbocharged R1 motor was only £70 more at £300

PS. if you need a replacement bonnet for that VortX without a bonnet scoop on I have got one from my last VortX in black

So do I hahaha.. but thanks!

I could always collect them To be honest I'd love the chunky nose bugger but know it means replacing quite a few panels and scuttle.

Insurance seems to be a bit of a lottery. Mine was with 2Gether last year and was about £220 (BEC) with £100 excess on 3000mpa and a value of ~£8k. This year I got a quote of £197 from Sureterm and 2Gether came in below that. I have now reduced my mileage to 2000 and included full recovery etc breakdown cover for a total of about £220 from 2Gether.

Thing is its not a bike engine anymore is it?

At SVA/IVA they apply car engine rules for emissions so its now a little 1000cc car engine.

THEY DIDNT ASK! All I did was fill in their forms and answer honestly

All done for £130 and best of all payable over 3 months for the same price.. yeeehhaaa

Just checked the exclusions from allowing and online quote which you have to click agree box and still all above board.. see below. Online is the way to go hehe.

If you are unable to answer YES to the following statements we will not be able to give you an on-line quote and you will be unable to purchase cover via our website.

The vehicle:
• Or donor vehicle has not had any performance enhancing modifications increasing the BHP by more than 15% from the standard specification.
• Is not valued at more than £50,000.
• Is not a Van, pickup, motor home or other commercial vehicle.
• Is not a 3 wheeler.
• Is not a KTM X-BOW or Ariel Atom.

THATS IT!!

Hi Dave

Really good - you ?

Must be hell of difference with post codes - mine was only £175 ! That's parts only though as I wouldn't trust anyone to touch my car. 3000 mileagreed value.
I do live in sleepy North Yorks so maybe that helps.

That must be it then, as I have full rebuild included aswell, not sure who I would get to build it though!!! and I think the mileage helps if you only have 3000 not that I will get anywhere near 5000 miles anyway......................and what are you tring to say about my postcode I know it starts with 'PO' but its not Portsmouth

I am hopefully getting round to insuring my brand new ZZR1400 Vortx in June on a 10 plate and a value of around £12,000 as I cannot see anyone paying what is actually invested in it. The first quote was from Adrian Flux and because I had insured my trike with them they had all my info still on record. £486 fully comp, now I thought this was pretty reasonable as the car has the same performance as an Aerial Atom and I am only 38. Thinking this was the route I would take for a laugh I rung some other in the Kitcar magazine, only to find I was getting shafted by Adrian Flux....

Heritage will get my business I think, as there quote was £233 fully comp or £263 with breakdown insurance UK Coverage.

This is based on 1500 miles per year, and for the first year this will be ample based on how crap the weather might be this year. Its worth a hunt around in my opinion.

:-)

Hope it passes, pity I wont have it for Stoneliegh this weekend.
