Tyre pressures & rear dampers
Wondered what tyre pressures everyone was using and what setting you have the rear dampers on - Vortx RT road use?
Cheers Greg

Mine was set midway and was a bit jittery on the bumpy back roads so I now have the pro techs on the back set to 3 clicks and seems a lot better.

3 clicks clockwise from the far left?
im guessing fully left (anticlockwise) is ultra stiff, and fully right (clockwise) is uber springy?

depends on my piles ( )
My fronts on 4-5 clicks ( dont really mess with them much )
My rears are 3 for general messing about. 5 if going for a serious blat but can get unsttled while pushing over potholes.
I suppose it is what comfort you are after really.
PS i am running 205 / 45 16s ( so have quite a bit of tyre damping ) running 16 PSi front and rear.
main thing to do is to get MNR to set tracking / corner weight then start doing laps and having a mess with the dampers.

Clicks in which direction?
Which way gives maximum damping - left/anticlockwise or right/clockwise?
And when specifying clicks from which end?
I have the same feeling - a bit jittery on bumpy B - roads
Thanks Greg

Clockwise makes the damper stiffer and anti clockwise makes it softer.
I always count from full stiff setting with any dampers because with some dampers (especially those with lots of clicks) the clicks get less distinct
the softer you go.
Our cars are race only and on slicks so my settings won't be much use to you.

Mid-point is way too hard for the road imho. Strangely on my old car I found it too soft for a smooth track too therefore pointless. Might have had
a bit to do with the car though.
Don't make the mistake of driving home after a trackday without changing the settings... Ow!

strange. ive recently set mine to midway after having it fully anti-clockwise and it seems noticeably softer. less rickety over bumps, now seems to
actually soak some of them up

Perhaps you were bottoming out on the softest setting. Or maybe you've just bedded the dampers in.

I've just been to Mallory Park. At 16 PSI, the car felt a bit wobbly at 80 round Gerrads. At 16.5 PSI it was OK upto 84. At 17 PSI it was
fine turning in at 90 then accelerating out upto a 104MPH exit speed. I didn't take my brave pants with me so I don't know where the
limit was, or if higher pressures would have improved it. 17 PSI should be all right for the road.
