Build progress again - Hungarian MNR
Hi, I just thought I'd show you a couple of pictures on where we are after 12 days spent on the car.
The engine is in place, cooling in place, Pipercross airbox fitted.
We are starting the engine-wiring this weekend and once the wiring is sorted we continue with the bodywork.
Any comments, tips appreciated!

The airbox is from MNR and cost around 200 pounds from memory. Around the same as on the Pipercross webpage. It has a flexi hose that we will route
underneath the radiator to suck nice fresh air... The question is how much dust/water it will suck with it... we have not decided on the ideal
position yet.

Very nice! That is one nice looking radiator too!
Won't you have to take the exhaust, wishbones etc off to fit the tub?

what about ducting the inlet into a bonnet bulge or nose cone vent?

We will. Only one side is mounted up temporarily to be able to measure the holes for the wishbones, pushrod, etc. The same with the manifold... we
need to measure where to cut the hole...

Yes, that is an option. I am not keen on a bonnet bulge and ducting the inlet pipe to the bodywork would be difficult without a NACA duct or bulge...
we will see. At the moment we plan just to run it on cold air instead of the hot engine bay air.

Not strong enough.

It all gets a bit conjested on that side of the car with both the engine and driver controls there. The other side (the proper side ) must be pretty
empty! Getting the chassis and corner weights balanced must be fun!

Looks like some good progress and how mine looked a week or two back before it all came off for the body which im hoping should be on over the
weekend. Have you managed to get all your header pipes into the collector completly or just a few mm in?

What was your bad experience with it? Can you elaborate please?

Well, there is not much we can do about that... we try to move everything we can to the other side, and MNR originally designed the car so that the
engine is not central, but moved to the right as much as possible, so passenger footwell is also a lot narrower than the driver side. And the
propshaft is at quite an angle... :-)

Only a few mm in so it all stays together and we can measure where the bodywork needs cutting. We probably won't be able to fit the manifold at
once once the body is on, all pipes need to go on separately, so there is no point in hammering the collector on the pipes just yet...
Thanks for your comments!

Thanks Matt!
True, don't get much time behind the computer wheel now... but hopefully will soon in the MNR!
And now the engine runs, too! See new thread!
