Calipers fouling !
Just replaced my 2 sierra rear calipers with 2 reconditioned ones. They are identical but now the hand brake springs are touching the rear wheels.
Have any one else come across this? Compomotive 13" CXR wheels fitted if that helps.

The standard sierra rear calipers do fit inside the 13" cxr's but you just need to bend the hand brake lever arm for them to clear,it may
be that the calipers you are replacing have already had this done to them.

+1
or remove the coiled spring and fit a spring over the HB cable between the arm and cable stop

Hi, we have the same setup, had the same problem. We filed the spring retainer bolt so it could get screwed in further, bent the handbrake cable arm
and also had new springs made with one less coil on them. This way it JUST fits...
Picture here:
Left - original spring, right - new spring
And the final setup:

This is 2nd hand info - so pinch of salt large
Apparently Sierra and Granada calipers used different handbrake pull off springs, the Grandada springs were stiffer so it was quite a common mod for
Ford agents to fit Granada springs if troubles were encountered with the handbrake sticking on.
As to which is larger --- I don't know 1

The way to go would have been to fit the old springs as Mark said. The problem is the company I got them from gave me £40 back for the old calipers.
Guess whats still attached to them !
