Raceleda R16 pad overhang, problem solved
I have finally managed to come up with a solution to the pads overhanging the disc on the Raceleda setup.
Not really a major problem but me being me I wanted to find a fix for it.
The fix I have come up with is to use a 260mm x 10mm solid disc from an escort as I was struggling to find a bigger Cortina disc than 248mm, but have
them turned down to 257mm. 260mm is just a bit too big and would also foul the bridge bolt. I sourced these from Hi Spec Motorsport and they also
turned them down for me for free.
These discs also seem to suit the shape of the R16 caliper at the hub better than Cortina discs.
I went for just grooved this time but could have had cross drilled aswell.
The Escort disc is a slightly different offset to the Cortina and a washer/spacer was needed between the caliper and mounting plate to realign it with
the centre of the disc.
The first two pics show the Raceleda setup.
Minor fluid leak also fixed.
R16 disc at hub
R16 pad original disc
The next pics show the setup with the new discs.
R16 New disc at hub
R16 pads with new disc
R16 spaced for new disc
I looked at different ways to solve this problem including different pad manufacturers but they are virtually all the same dimensions and
wouldn't have altered anything.
I thought I would post this on here incase anyone else wanted to do the same.
