Airbox Hayabusa in VortX

Hi,

There seam to be an critical height problem when it comes to fit airbox under the hood.

Im aiming for an propper airbox fed from the front due to noice reasons as well as an childish hope to achieve positive air feed.

What solutions do you have? any pics would be apprechiated.

PERFECT!!! Any more ideas/pic´s are welcome.

I do have the original bike airbox and might cheat and cut it down and use the area around throttles and build from that?

Another thing, the "newer" busa has slightly higher throttlebodies and with original trumpets it´s basicly sucks to the inner side of the hood....

I do have the MNR supplied scoop and are willing to use it to gain height, but i think an slightly higher and somewhat longer scoop or hump might be necessary...

Made mine with some flat pieces of CF, bonded together with PU/alu trim. Works a treat, and really quiet compared to the old one (2nd picture).

Sorry about the size of the photo!

Hayabusa Air Box

I have achieved your childish dreams of fitting a standard Hayabusa Air Box and pressurising it via the air scoop on the Bonnet. it requires some modification but retains most of the air box area.
If you are using the K8 engine, you will have more of a problem because the air filter is a Flat Type and you cannot modify the Air Box like I have done. I am pretty sure that an older type air box would still fit but you will need to try one first.
